I am delighted to share the good news that, at our very first attempt, both the 2022 Old Rectory Chardonnay and Cherry Orchard Pinot Noir were awarded Silver Medals at the WineGB Awards.

For some daft reason, we didn’t submit our Rosé for consideration — something we now rather regret, as it is every bit as delicious as its award-winning siblings.

Our 2022 wines have proved hugely successful and incredibly popular, so much so that the Cherry Orchard Pinot Noir is now sold out.

We also have only a limited quantity of the 2022 Chardonnay and Rosé remaining, so if you are keen to taste or re-order, now might be the time to play fastest finger first.

As the sun sets on 2022, the dawn breaks on the 2023 vintage and, once again, we have a trio of still wines for you to enjoy. We first presented these wines during English Wine Week in Bloomsbury, when they were still barrel and tank samples, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

We are therefore delighted to introduce the 2023 collection — a new vintage that continues our commitment to producing characterful, estate-grown wines from the chalk soils of Kent.

2024 – The Story So Far

As for the current year, it has been anything but straightforward. A wet, cool spring, thankfully without frost, was followed by a damp and rather underwhelming start to summer. Despite the challenges, the vines are in excellent shape. Flowering and fruit set have taken place successfully, and current yield forecasts are similar to last year.

We now simply need some settled sunshine to help ripen the fruit. All being well, harvest will begin in late September, although it may stretch well into October, depending on the vagaries of the English weather.

If you are interested in joining us for the Cary Wine Estate harvest, please do get in touch. Everyone is welcome, and it is a wonderfully sociable and genuinely memorable experience.
